1. The site should load speedily
2. Design should allow users to get the information they need and go
3. Navigation on all pages is vital
4. Avoid bandwidth-hogging bleeding-edge technology splash pages and scripts
5. The site should function properly in target browsers
6. Animations are distracting and should be used sparingly, if at all
7. The site should be kept up-to-date with relevant information
8. Scrolling should be minimised - and avoided if possible
9. Colour schemes should be selected with care and text readability maintained
10. The site should be organised for search engine optimisation
